What: Two creative workshops, part of Echo Eternal’s Horizons Festival in the run up to Holocaust Memorial Day, exploring the testimony of Holocaust survivor Agnes Kaposi and how we can take a stand against hatred and intolerance

When: Saturday 9 January 10.30 – 12.30 and/or Wednesday 13 January 19.30-21.00. You can attend either or both workshops.

Who: The workshops will be led by writer Mandy Ross, and hosted by FOLIO Sutton Coldfield. Anyone who is interested in community relations, working against prejudice and intolerance, or simply learning more about the experiences of Agnes Kaposi is welcome to join us. These workshops are aimed at adults.

Why: FOLIO Sutton Coldfield is embarking on a new partnership, with Echo Eternal. CORE Education Trust’s Echo Eternal is a commemorative arts engagement programme inspired by Holocaust survivor testimony to promote respect and understanding between different communities and through this programme, FOLIO will be developing an on-going relationship with Holocaust survivor Agnes Kaposi. These workshops are the first events in a series which, throughout 2021, will explore difference, prejudice and what we have in common.

More information: Mandy Ross is a writer and poet, currently training in psychotherapeutic counselling. She has written over 60 children’s books as well as plays and work for adults. She brings together her pleasure in writing with a creative approach to exploring and making. She regularly works with Echo Eternal.

These workshops are FREE to attend. However, all participants are encourage to make a donation towards a book fund: Funds raised through donations will be used to purchase new Sutton Coldfield library stock linked to understanding the Holocaust, and stories about standing up to hatred and intolerance.
