Reaching for the Moon! is an amazing series of 20 hands-one STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) workshops for 8-12 year olds from May – December 2019 facilitated by FOLIO Sutton Coldfield, funded by an EEGS grant from the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) and The Institute of Mechancial Engineers (IMechE).
FOLIO has teamed up with really exciting science educators, Femtinos, to present these workshops as a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the first Moon Landing, which took place on July 20 1969. Over the course of 20 workshops, participants will be able to explore, investigate and be inspired by 50 inventions which grew out of NASA’s research that was needed to put people on the moon, and bring them back safely to earth.
Each workshop will look at 2-3 different inventions, and cover everything from food to flight and clothes to clean air. The workshops will be playful, exciting and full of surprises!
Tickets cost £3 and are non-refundable. They must be booked in advance here:
