What is Story Massage?
Story massage involves the use of simple movement (through clothes) associated with words to build up a story or rhyme /song.
Story massage can be shared as a child to child or parent to child activity.
Benefits of story massage:
- Opportunities for children / babies to access calming time
- Fun and interactive way of story telling
- Increases social skills, imagination and creativity
- Relaxation of mind and body

As part of this year’s Big Draw Festival, join Comic Creator, Writer and Illustrator, Richy K. Chandler (Lucy the Octopus, What the Hell Just Happened?!) as he takes you through a fun and creative workshop looking into the different skills in making comics! Draw your own comic characters, learn comic strip lettering tips, develop your story telling skills and create your own comic strip! The day's outline:
PART 1: 10.30am-12.30pm
Drawing Warm Ups, Character Expressions and Design plus a look at my own work
LUNCH
PART 2: 1.15 pm - 2.25pm (1 hour 10 mins)
Story creating games and development, Lettering
AFTERNOON BREAK
PART 3: 2.40pm-3.30pm (50 min)
Creating Comic strip from scratch
Please bring your own packed lunch (alternatively you can buy lunch from our play-cafe inside the library on the day). We will provide vegetarian / halal snacks and drinks throughout the day.
